Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt described the meeting as “positive and productive.” The unusually warm assessments from both sides reinforced how dramatically the Trump-Zelensky relationship has changed since their Oval Office meeting in February 2025. Trump announced during his meeting with Zelensky at the NATO summit in Ankara earlier this month that Washington would grant Ukraine a license to manufacture Patriot missile interceptors.
