Firefighters in the village of Novi Petrivtsi, Vyshhorod district, Kyiv region, are continuing efforts for a second day to extinguish a large fire that broke out at an illegal landfill and spread to nearby open land.
According to Ukrinform, the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service (SES) in the Kyiv region reported the incident on Facebook.
The fire was first reported on Monday, July 27.
Fire crews from Novi Petrivtsi, Dymer and Vyshhorod were dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters found multiple pockets of burning waste at the illegal landfill, with the flames having spread to the surrounding open area.
