July 28 (UPI) -- The Philadelphia Eagles and Pro Bowl defensive tackle Jalen Carter agreed to a four-year, $152 million extension, Rosenhaus Sports said Tuesday.
Carter's pact will keep him under contract with the Eagles through 2031. The contract, which will make Carter the highest-paid defensive tackle in NFL history, is worth up to $160 million and includes $106 million in guarantees.
Carter, the No. 9 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, totaled 108 combined tackles, 37 quarterback hits, 25 tackles for a loss, 13.5 sacks, 13 passes defensed, four forced fumbles and a fumble return for a touchdown through his first three seasons.
The 6-foot-3, 314-pound defender made the Pro Bowl each of the last two seasons. Carter logged 43 appearances for the Eagles, including 27 starts through his first three seasons.
