July 28 (UPI) -- Cost overages in Boeing's building of two Air Force One planes has caused the company to report a $428 million loss in the second quarter of 2026.
The loss was more than double what was expected, the company announced Tuesday.
Boeing agreed to make the two presidential planes in 2018 at a fixed price of $3.9 billion, but production and certification expenses added another $280 million to the costs in the second quarter, The New York Times reported. The planes were supposed to be delivered in 2024, but that date was pushed back to 2028.
But Boeing is showing some improvement.
