Black people with MS tend to die at younger ages than patients of other races, and comorbidities such as hypertension and cardiac arrest may contribute to the disparity, according to data published in Neurology Open Access. Although mortality rates for MS have improved in the U.S., the overall age-adjusted rate of 1.1 per 100,000 people remains high compared with the rate among the general
