Nigerian product designer Bright Chinenyeze is emerging as one of a growing number of African technology professionals using design to make digital services more accessible and inclusive, helping businesses, governments and startups create products that better serve users across the continent’s diverse markets.
Chinenyeze, a Lagos-based Senior Product Designer, has built a career around simplifying complex digital experiences in sectors ranging from compliance and healthcare to government services and artificial intelligence. His work focuses on understanding user challenges, aligning business goals with customer needs, and developing solutions that improve how people interact with technology.

“Africa is culturally diverse, and in a country like Nigeria with over 250 ethnic groups, hundreds of languages, and major differences in internet access, device capability and digital literacy, product design has to ensure inclusion and accessibility from day one,” Chinenyeze said in an interview.
His journey into technology followed an unconventional path. A graduate of Chemical Engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Chinenyeze said his engineering background gave him the systems-thinking approach that later became central to his design career.
