Beverage major Coca-Cola on Tuesday said it views India as a long-term growth opportunity, where it is focusing on meeting consumer needs by leveraging on its revenue growth management capabilities. The company, which released its Q2 CY2026 earnings, said it is not only seeing opportunities in the affordable segment, but also at the premium-end.Responding to a query on the Asia-Pacific and India region on the earnings call, Henrique Braun, CEO of The Coca-Cola Company, said: “It is a long-term opportunity and continues to be very attractive to us, and we continue to build this for the future...We have said in the past as well that this will be the place where we’re going to continue to invest ahead of the curve, bringing more consumers to the base in the right way, tightening up our revenue growth management capabilities, and it’s a place where we’re seeing opportunities not only on the affordability part, where we are investing ahead of the curve, but also on the premiumisation side as well.”“We do own in India specifically seven out of the top ten brands today, and building the equity of those brands is our primary goal, and it’s important that we continue to focus on building those capabilities to capture even more growth in the future,” Braun said. He added that the company is investing on cold drink equipment and building the right capabilities to gain more consumer engagement. He noted that in terms of the Asia-Pacific region, India and China are outgrowing more developed markets such as Australia, Japan and Korea. “We had great volume growth not only in India, but in China as well,” he added. In its earnings statement, the beverage major said that consolidated unit case volume grew 5 per cent, led by India, China, the US and Brazil. However, the company also said that in the Asia-Pacific region, it lost value share in total NARTD beverages, as gains in Japan and China were more than offset by a loss in India. In June, the company had said it is exploring a potential public listing in India of Hindustan Coca-Cola Holdings Pvt Ltd (HCCH), the parent company of the largest Coca-Cola bottler in India, Hindustan Coca-Cola Beverages Pvt Ltd (HCCB), in 2027.Published on July 28, 2026
