A student of a Telangana Minorities Residential Educational Institutions Society (TGMREIS) girls’ school in Patancheru was safely traced and rescued by Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) staff, with the help of a fellow passenger, after she boarded a bus without informing school authorities, the corporation said on Tuesday.Bus conductor Shekhar and driver J.S. Kumar sensed that something was amiss after they noticed that she was not wearing any footwear. They found that she had only ₹10 with her and was unable to clearly say where she wanted to go. This prompted them to keep an eye on her.At one point, the girl borrowed a fellow passenger’s mobile phone to make a call, they said. Based on the number she contacted, the bus crew confirmed that she was a TGMREIS student. When she attempted to disembark, the TGSRTC staff, along with a passenger, intervened, calmed her down and prevented her from leaving the bus. She was later handed over to the Saifabad police.When contacted, TGMREIS staff said that the minor had recently joined one of its girls’ schools in Patancheru, where her parents had dropped her off. However, she grew homesick and managed to slip out without arousing suspicion.“As is the case with some students, she was unwilling to remain at the school.
