The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) recorded its highest number of cases during the second quarter of a calendar year since 1983, registering 10 disproportionate assets (DA) cases, 34 trap cases and conducting 23 surprise checks, Director General Charu Sinha said while reviewing the Bureau’s performance on Tuesday.During a review meeting, Ms. Sinha expressed satisfaction over the Bureau’s performance, stating that the record number of cases reflected renewed focus, sustained vigilance and professional commitment towards tackling corruption.She commended officers and staff across various units for their work and stressed the need to maintain professional, fair and thorough investigations while continuously improving investigative standards and institutional vigilance.The ACB also organised a Reward Mela to recognise officers and staff for their performance during the quarter. Commendations and rewards were presented to personnel who were adjudged to have delivered exceptional work in anti-corruption investigations.Addressing the gathering, Ms. Sinha said corruption weakens the country from within and urged officers to continue discharging their duties with integrity, determination and a strong sense of public service to strengthen public trust and uphold the rule of law.
