United States electric vehicle manufacturer Tesla is taking its first concrete steps toward entering the Argentine market, with a 2027 launch in its sights.

The company has been registered in Argentina since April, with a local address and a country manager overseeing both Argentina and Uruguay, where Tesla vehicles officially went on sale in July.

According to specialized outlets, the automaker’s first priority is to build a network of Superchargers, giving prospective customers a reliable charging experience from day one.

Superchargers are ultra-fast direct-current charging stations designed to recharge an electric vehicle’s battery in minutes rather than hours.

They are considered essential to the widespread adoption of electric vehicles because they can add up to 320 kilometers (200 miles) of driving range in just 15 minutes, reducing the risk of drivers being stranded.
