Sometimes, the best trips aren’t about traveling far at all.
I love being outside. I just don't love sleeping on the ground. That's exactly why my husband and I decided to try glamping. We wanted the quiet of nature without sacrificing a real bed, a hot shower and good coffee. It turned out to be one of our favorite weekend getaways. Glamping — short for “glamorous camping” — offers the beauty of the outdoors with a few extra comforts along the way. Think cozy beds, furnished tents, cabins or even tree houses that allow you to enjoy nature on your own terms. Whether you’re planning your first glamping getaway or looking to make your next trip even better, here are a few tips to help you create a memorable experience.
Choose the Right Location
One of the best parts of glamping is that it can take place in a wide variety of settings. From mountains and forests to lakesides and beaches, you can find countless places to enjoy the outdoors with a little added comfort. If we were taking our kids, we’d want something with more to do nearby.
