Information obtained by IranWire indicates that FATA (Iran’s Cyber Police) has issued warnings to several handmade jewelry artisans and Instagram business owners, threatening them with judicial and security action if they sell symbols associated with the January protests.
According to the information provided to IranWire, account owners were notified that continuing to offer or advertise these products could result in the blocking of their Instagram accounts and the arrest of the business owners. They were also forced to delete content promoting the sale of these jewelry items from their accounts.
This is not the first time vendors in this sector have faced such warnings. Previously, sellers offering T-shirts featuring January protest symbols - including designs referencing the dates of January 8 and 9 or the iconic image of Hamid Mahdavi, a firefighter from Mashhad who was reportedly killed while assisting injured protesters - received similar warnings from FATA.
Informed sources stated that these warnings were served directly to handmade jewelry vendors, targeting symbols that had been created and sold in recent months as tokens of solidarity with the January protests.
