Billionaire Gina Rinehart paid for Pauline Hanson’s European flights and a fashion show, the One Nation leader has confirmed in a parliamentary gift registry update.Senator Hanson updated her parliamentary register of interests on Tuesday, revealing the mining magnate paid for her flights from London to Sicily, via Rome.But she confirmed she paid for her own accommodation, meals and other daily expenses during the trip from July 11 to 16.It came after photographs emerged of her holidaying with Ms Rinehart at the five-star Grand Hotel San Pietro, where they were spotted by the pool.But Senator Hanson did not reveal details about the costs until now.Speaking at a Seven West Media event in Perth last week, Senator Hanson rejected suggestions that taxpayers had funded the trip.“It didn’t cost the taxpayer one cent for my trip overseas. Not one cent,” she said.Senator Hanson has previously declared gifts from Ms Rinehart and Hancock Prospecting in her register, including other flights, hospitality and a “bloody big orange bulldozer”.The updated disclosure does not reveal how her flights from Australia to London were funded, but if she paid for it herself she would not need to declare it.Senator Hanson was recently due to meet UK Reform leader Nigel Farage but he resigned from parliament before it could happen.Instead, she was interviewed for a podcast hosted by UK far-right activist Tommy Robinson, whose real name is Stephen-Yaxley Lennon.He has served prison time for offences including assault, fraud and contempt of court.Senator Hanson and Ms Rinehart have appeared to become close in recent months.In April, Senator Hanson accepted a $1m Cirrus G7 plane from Ms Rinehart, which she described as “sexy”.
