AstraZeneca India to establish an Integrated Genomic Solutions Centre in Amaravati.As part of the efforts to advance cancer care through genomic medicine, the Andhra Pradesh government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with AstraZeneca India for the proposed centre in Amaravati.The initiative aims to introduce the country’s first Integrated Precision Oncology programme, enabling personalized cancer diagnosis and treatment through advanced genetic research.The MoU was signed in the presence of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu by representatives of the state’s Health Department and AstraZeneca India. The project will be implemented in collaboration with Strand Life Sciences, a Reliance Group company, and Qure.ai.The Integrated Genomic Solutions Centre will focus on advanced genomic testing and biomarker analysis for lung and breast cancer patients.The initiative will leverage artificial intelligence (AI), next-generation sequencing (NGS), and precision medicine to enable early detection of cancer and provide personalized treatment based on an individual’s genetic profile.As part of the programme, AI-powered X-ray screening systems for early detection of lung cancer will be installed in government hospitals. The technology is expected to improve cancer screening, accelerate diagnosis, and facilitate timely treatment for patients, according to a release.Published on July 28, 2026
