Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) pushed back against a reported effort to rename New York’s Penn Station after President Donald Trump, arguing the transportation hub’s priority should be modernization rather than a name change.
Schumer Opposes Trump Penn Station Rename On Monday, in a post on X, Schumer said, "I will block Donald Trump’s push to rename Penn Station for himself." The New York Democrat argued that the focus should remain on improving the heavily used transit hub rather than changing its identity.
"Penn Station needs to be rebuilt, not rebranded," he said.
He added, "It is a public building, paid for by the taxpayers, and it belongs to the 600,000 people who walk through it every single day."
