Qatar launches exchange to expand its role in global diamond trade

Qatar has launched the Qatar Diamond Exchange (QDE), a new marketplace for rough and polished diamonds designed to connect Doha with international trading networks.

Based in the Ras Bufontas Free Zone, the exchange brings together trading, certification, vaulting, customs and industry services within a single regulated ecosystem.

"The Qatar Diamond Exchange represents an important step in Qatar's efforts to further diversify its economy and strengthen its position as a trusted participant in global diamond trade," said Sheikh Mohammed Bin Hamad Bin Faisal Al-Thani, Qatar Free Zones Authority CEO and chairman of QDE.
