A drone passed within 50 feet of a Police Scotland helicopter and continued to follow it for a short time, in an incident aviation authorities described as unsafe.
The incident comes at a time when private and military drones have caused increasing disruption at airports, military facilities, naval ports and elsewhere.
It occurred on 13 May near Strathclyde Loch in Motherwell, when the police helicopter was involved in operational duties, according to information supplied to the UK Airprox Board, which investigates aviation near-misses.
