Your summer vacation probably has room for another pair of shoes. A bulky drone? Maybe not. DJI Flip is one of the few drones designed to slip into an everyday bag, launch from your palm, and even film you without needing someone else behind the controls. And right now, it’s also considerably cheaper than usual.

Right now, the DJI Flip two-battery combo without a remote controller is available for $309, down from $389, while the DJI Flip with the RC-N3 controller has dropped to $349 from $439. At the same time, the DJI Flip with RC 2 screen remote controller is available for $509, down from $639, and the DJI Flip Fly More Combo with RC 2 screen remote controller can be picked up for only $619, instead of $779.

The timing couldn’t be better. DJI’s newest drones continue to face an uncertain path into the US market because of ongoing import and regulatory hurdles, making existing models like the Flip even more attractive for buyers who don’t want to wait around wondering what may, or may not, arrive next.

But here’s the thing: the Flip isn’t interesting just because it’s discounted. It solves many of the problems that stop people from buying a drone in the first place.
