Around 21 equity mutual funds (MFs) delivered over 20% XIRR on SIP investments over the past year, an analysis by ETMutualFunds showed. During the period, 291 equity mutual funds were analysed, of which 241 generated positive returns and 99 delivered double-digit XIRR on SIP investments.Small-cap funds dominated the rankings, with the top seven funds all belonging to the category. Of these, five generated over 30% XIRR on SIP investments. Bank of India Small Cap Fund topped the list with an XIRR of 39.08%. TRUSTMF Small Cap Fund delivered an XIRR of 38.60% on SIP investments over the past year. It was followed by Motilal Oswal Small Cap Fund and JM Small Cap Fund, which generated XIRRs of 34.50% and 33.72%, respectively.Union Small Cap Fund, ITI Small Cap Fund and DSP Small Cap Fund posted XIRRs of 30.46%, 29.70% and 25.99%, respectively.Among non-small-cap schemes, Motilal Oswal Focused Fund topped the list with an XIRR of 25.41%, followed by Quant Value Fund (24.43%) and Bajaj Finserv Small Cap Fund (24.35%).Aditya Birla Sun Life Small Cap Fund delivered an XIRR of 24.31%, while HSBC Midcap Fund generated 24.29%. Invesco India Smallcap Fund followed with 24.19%.LIC MF Value Fund and Quant Small Cap Fund posted XIRRs of 23.20% and 23.02%, respectively. LIC MF Small Cap Fund and Mahindra Manulife Small Cap Fund returned 22.58% and 22.49%.Groww Multicap Fund delivered an XIRR of 20.44%. A monthly SIP of Rs 10,000 in the fund would have grown to around Rs 1.32 lakh over one year. Sundaram Small Cap Fund and PGIM India Small Cap Fund generated XIRRs of 20.13% and 20.09%, while Quant Large & Mid Cap Fund returned 20%.Other positive performersJust below the 20% mark, Invesco India Midcap Fund and Invesco India Large & Mid Cap Fund delivered XIRRs of 19.99% and 19.93%, respectively. Samco Large Cap Fund was the worst performer, with a negative XIRR of 7.79%, followed by Franklin India Focused Equity Fund at -7.32%.Parag Parikh ELSS Tax Saver Fund posted a negative XIRR of 6.55%, while Sundaram ELSS Tax Saver Fund and Sundaram Flexi Cap Fund returned -4.01% and -4.00%, respectively.Parag Parikh Flexi Cap Fund, the largest active flexi-cap fund by assets under management, delivered a negative XIRR of 3.49%. SBI Contra Fund, the largest and oldest contra fund, posted a negative XIRR of 1.97%, while JM Value Fund recorded the smallest decline at 0.02%.The analysis covered all regular-plan, growth-oriented equity mutual funds, excluding sectoral and thematic schemes.
