TVTV NewsGood Morning BritainThe Good Morning Britain presenters took a moment to pay tribute to the comedian.08:05, 28 Jul 2026The presenters of Good Morning Britain have paid tribute to a star after "very sad news".‌Following the news that comedian and TV presenter Bill Oddie has died at the age of 85, the ITV stars spoke of his career and legacy.‌Oddie was best known as part of TV comedy trio The Goodies, as well as one of the original presenters of Springwatch and other programmes about birdwatching.‌In a statement, his agent David Foster said: "It is with deep sadness that I announce the passing of Bill Oddie, the country's best-loved birder."Bill was a multi-talented celebrity – wildlife presenter, broadcaster, comedian, writer, songwriter, musician and conservationist. Yet it was never fame that he valued. Instead he encouraged us to respect and protect the environment."‌As tributes have been paid from fans and fellow TV stars, Good Morning Britain correspondent Rishi Davda shared a message during the entertainment segment.Joining Richard Madeley and Kate Garraway in the studio, he began: "It's very sad news, he was a trailblazer in British comedy before inspiring millions to connect with the natural world."He continued: "He found fame in the 70s as a member of comedy trio The Goodies before becoming one of Britain's most well-known broadcasters."‌Rishi went on to share tributes that have been paid to Oddie, before Kate and Richard shared their memories of the comedian."It's clear to see that his impact extended far beyond the laughs that people got," Rishi said.‌Echoing Chris Packham's tribute, Richard added: "He was spiky!
