The Ramamurthy Nagar police have arrested a 42-year-old fruit vendor for allegedly sexually harassing a woman who was waiting by the roadside for a cab in Bengaluru.The accused has been identified as Vijay Raghav (42), a resident of NRI Layout. According to police, he approached the woman on a scooter and allegedly made obscene remarks, sexually harassing her in a public place.The woman remained composed and immediately recorded the incident on her mobile phone. Realising that both his face and vehicle registration number had been captured on video, the accused fled from the scene.The victim later shared the video on Instagram, raising serious concerns over women’s safety in the city. She questioned whether women could safely stand alone in public and tagged the Bengaluru City Police, urging them to take strict legal action against the offender.Based on her complaint, the Ramamurthy Nagar police registered an FIR, launched an investigation, and traced the accused.
