MOSCOW, July 28. /TASS/. Last night's attempted drone attack on Moscow has become one of the largest in two years, according to TASS calculations based on data provided by Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin.
According to the mayor, over 390 drones targeted the Moscow region between 8:30 p.m. Moscow time (5:30 p.m. GMT) on Monday and 6:30 a.m. Moscow time (3:30 a.m. GMT) this morning.
"Most were neutralized by air defense forces on distant approaches, while 81 enemy drones were destroyed on the approach to Moscow," the mayor wrote on his Max social media channel.
The largest overall drone attack on the capital was recorded from the evening of July 6 to 6:00 a.m. Moscow time (3:00 a.m. GMT) on July 7. At that time, Sobyanin reported that air defenses downed over 430 drones, including 36 near Moscow.
Additionally, between 8:30 p.m. Moscow time (5:30 p.m. GMT) on July 19 and 5:00 a.m. Moscow time (2:00 a.m.) on July 20, more than 400 enemy drones flew toward the capital region. Most were neutralized on distant approaches, and 85 UAVs were destroyed close to the city.
