Parts of the UAE face rain and high winds for at least three days following heavy downpours that lashed the Northern Emirates on Monday.

The National Centre of Meteorology forecast winds reaching up to 40kph across eastern and southern areas from Tuesday to Thursday.

Heavy rain and hail struck Masafi, bordering Fujairah and Ras Al Khaimah, while Abu Dhabi and Dubai are expected to see clear skies and temperatures of 40-41°C on Tuesday.

Temperatures in Abu Dhabi and Dubai are forecast to surge to 46°C by the weekend, as the country's summer season intensifies.
