According to him, migration has become a major issue across the continent, with many African countries grappling with both internal and cross-border movements of people.
South African President, Cyril Ramaphosa, has again condemned raging anti-migrant attacks and killings in the country, insisting that foreigners should not be blamed for unemployment, crime or failures in public service delivery.
Speaking on the growing migration challenges facing Africa at the First Ordinary Session of the 7th Parliament of the African Union, Ramaphosa acknowledged that South Africa has experienced incidents of hostility, intimidation and violence targeting foreign nationals, resulting in injuries and deaths.
According to him, migration has become a major issue across the continent, with many African countries grappling with both internal and cross-border movements of people.
“Today, many parts of our continent are confronted by the challenge of migration, in our own countries and out of our own continent to other continents,” President Ramaphosa said.
