Laura Loomer, a U.S. conservative influencer closely associated with President Donald Trump, visited a DTEK Group power substation in the Kyiv region that was destroyed by Russian forces in 2022 but has since been rebuilt and returned to operation.
Natalia Yemchenko, Director for Public Relations and Communications at SCM, announced the visit on Facebook, according to Ukrinform.
"Laura Loomer, a U.S. conservative influencer, visited a DTEK Group substation in the Kyiv region that was destroyed by a Russian missile strike in 2022. Thanks to support from the U.S. government, the facility was not only restored but also modernized," Yemchenko wrote.
She noted that the substation now supplies electricity and heating to 20,000 Ukrainian households.
According to Yemchenko, Loomer saw firsthand the conditions in which Ukrainian energy workers operate and how their work has become both highly dangerous and critically important during the war.
