New Round of Funding for Small Business Paid Family Leave Grant

Grant period open through May 31, 2028, or until funds run out

California small businesses can now apply for a new round of California Paid Family Leave (PFL) grants, with funding of up to $2,000 per employee.

The grants help offset costs related to an employee’s leave, including cross-training or upskilling current staff, hiring and training new or temporary employees, and covering recruitment and advertising expenses. California’s Paid Family Leave program provides wage-replacement benefits to workers who take time off to bond with a new child or care for a seriously ill family member.
