LeBron James is a Philadelphia 76er and to celebrate, we’ve compiled a list of quintessential State Property songs for him to get himself reacquainted with. I’m sure he’s heard of a couple of these tracks, being that he’s famously a Jay-Z fan, but we will need him to rap (or mumble) along to these on social media whenever he shares those signature posts of himself enjoying a drive or working out. NBA fans on Twitter (who calls it X?) have been making jokes about his daughter Zhuri being a Beanie Sigel/State Property fan and their tweets have inspired me to compile this list on the lowest of keys.
Now, for those that don’t know or may’ve forgotten, State Property was collective out of Philly that were signed to Roc-A-Fella Records during the 2000s which included Beanie Sigel, Freeway, the Young Gunz, Peedi Crakk, Omillio Sparks and Oschino Vasquez as members. They even had their own subsidiary clothing line of the same name under Rocawear that me and my friends used to boost at our local Forman Mills and Burlington Coat Factory (their music can have that type of effect.) They’ve since come back into the rap lexicon recently thanks to the aforementioned social media posts and their guest appearances during Jigga’s memorable Roots Picnic set.
