EXCLUSIVE: Casa Amor bombshell Carlos Borges has shared some of the things that Islanders are not allowed to discuss in the villa.Mia Raja18:49, 27 Jul 2026Updated 18:50, 27 Jul 2026A Casa Amor bombshell from this year’s UK series has shared what Love Island stars are allowed and not allowed to discuss in the villa. In an exclusive interview with The Mirror, an ex-Islander from this year’s series has spilled on the hidden rules that the cast face.‌Carlos Borges was thrown into the deep end of Season 13, entering the villa as a Casa Amor bombshell. Arriving with a youthful fearlessness and determination, the 22-year-old was set on getting to know Islander Priya Jaswal. Now dumped from the villa, Carlos shares the rules which restrict Islanders from getting to know each other and the struggles he faced while on the show.‌“You can't really talk about stuff that's going on in the outside,” he said. “Say if you've seen something on the screen and then you want to go say ‘oh, yeah, I remember before I came in, I heard this’, they don't like you talking about that sort of stuff.”‌The bombshell from the New Forest explained that this rule extended to discussing certain interests such as TV shows. He explained: “I’ll never forget, I was having a chat with Priya on the terrace one of the nights, and I just wanted to get to know on like a different basis instead of just [saying], ‘oh, what's your situation? How are you feeling about this?’.‌“I wanted to chat to her about something past that, like more of a genuine conversation. I tried talking about a Netflix show and I was like, ‘what are your top 5 series?’ [but] you can't talk about that sort of stuff.”Carlos was getting to know Priya before he was sent packing after just 3 days in the villa. This came after a recoupling in which Priya chose Casa Amor bombshell Jordon Wilson instead.Since then, Priya attempted to rekindle things with original Islander Aidan Murphy, but the pair ultimately decided to remain friends before being dumped from the villa on Friday night’s episode.‌Carlos went on to explain how these rules restricted him in truly getting to know Priya."I think there's a clip [where the other boys said to me], ‘oh try to talk about something apart from just about how [Priya’s] feeling about the situation.’ It's like, well, boys, that's all I can talk about. What else can I talk about? I can't talk about anything else.”‌He added: “It is tough in the villa. It's not as easy as people think it is.” Carlos shared other common misconceptions about the reality TV show, including the assumption that the Islanders are together all the time.“I think a lot of people don't know [that] there's a down day. You can't just chat to girls every day, whenever you want. Obviously, you have times when you're separated and you can't chat and can chat.”The former Islander told The Mirror what he believes is the biggest misconception about Love Island UK.Article continues below“I think there's a lot of things that people think actually happen that don't happen,” he explained.“[A] lot of people assume Love Island is scripted. It's not scripted. It's very raw and real. From my time in the villa, I was very much able to do whatever I wanted to do. So, I think that's the biggest misconception of the show – that the show's scripted when it's not.”The Love Island UK final will begin at 9pm on Monday 27 July and will be available to watch live and on demand on ITV2 and ITVX.
