Years after the two left the villa together in 2019, Maura shared that she didn't view their time together as "a relationship" and said it "wasn't a thing".‌Speaking to Paul C. Brunson on his podcast, We Need To Talk, Maura was asked about leaving the villa with dancer Curtis. She suggested their 'relationship', wasn't real, going so far as to deny that she viewed it that way.‌"It's a weird one. I don't really look at it like a relationship," Maura said. "Just like, we never spent time together. I broke up with him over a phone call, I didn't have the respect to do it face to face."‌She added that it "wasn't a thing" and that "there was nothing there" between them. Paul then referred to their time together as "an agreement", which Maura did not disagree with.The Married At First Sight star asked her if she thought Curtis viewed their time together as a relationship, to which she said: "No. I don't think so. I could be wrong but I can't imagine it."‌When asked about how it ended, she added: "I said it and he agreed. There was nothing there. It wasn't love. And the minute we got out, we were both so busy anyway. Let's be real, if it was something, it would've worked. She initially showed interest in Tommy Fury, but as he was happily coupled up with Molly-Mae Hague, she ended up coupling up with Tom Walker.‌Their time together ended explosively, as Tom joked about seeing if "Maura is all mouth or not" when they got the chance to spend some alone time together. Maura was furious and chewed him out in front of everyone.Eventually, she coupled up with Curtis and the two came fourth on the show. Curtis had previously been in a couple with Amy Hart, but they broke up after he admitted that he wanted to couple up with someone else during Casa Amor.Curtis has since appeared on other Love Island iterations, including All Stars twice.
