John Cena is opening up about his hair loss and restoration journey. “The objective is to get more hair, and this was the best way to do it, talking with Ken Anderson, my doctor over there,” Cena told People magazine at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend. “I love the guy. He’s totally changed my life.”Cena said that he went to the doctor for two hair restoration procedures, calling him “a master.” After the first procedure, the “Little Brother” actor said he “went back to him like, ‘Man, you did great. I have this one small, small, small spot. Can you do it?’” Cena attends the premiere of "Jackpot" on Aug.13, 2024 in Hollywood, California.Axelle/Bauer-Griffin via Getty Images“He’s like, ‘I can. My best results are — if you’re bold enough to shave your head, I can keep the follicles,’” the wrestler said. “My first operation was 13 and a half hours. The second one was eight hours.” Cena previously spoke about his motivation to undergo a hair transplant after years of thinking it was something to hide. “I hate the fact that if there wasn’t so much shame around it, I’d have gotten it done 10 years ago,” he told People back in 2025. “I thought I was alone, but seven or eight out of 10 [men] suffer from thinning or baldness.”Other prominent men, including “The Soup” star Joel McHale, have been open about their hair-loss surgeries publicly. McHale said he would be “fully bald” without his four hair transplants over the years, and offered up some advice for anyone looking to get one themselves. “If somebody is like, ‘I’ll do it for $3,000,’ then you don’t [do it],” he said during an appearance on the “We Might Be Drunk” podcast in 2025. “You get what you pay for.”
