Several International buyers from European countries have expressed strong interest in sourcing fireworks from Sivakasi, underscoring the growing global demand for high-quality Indian fireworks. This development comes following intervention by Industries Minister Keerthana, who hails from Virudhunagar, neigbouring Sivakasi.One of Europe’s leading fireworks importers, with an annual business volume of approximately ₹6,000 crore and an established presence across the US, Europe, Australia, and several other international markets, has conveyed its intention to begin sourcing fireworks from Sivakasi. The company’s quality control teams have visited manufacturing facilities in the region on multiple occasions to assess production capabilities, product quality, and compliance with international safety standards, says a release.The company has indicated its readiness to place an initial order of approximately 50 export containers of fireworks manufactured to international specifications, with the potential to significantly expand procurement over the coming years. However, it has also highlighted the availability of specialised export containers for shipping fireworks as a key logistical challenge affecting the commencement of exports.The development reflects the growing confidence of international buyers in the quality, manufacturing capabilities, and technical expertise of the Sivakasi fireworks industry.
