Teachers must adopt modern teaching methods and effectively use technology to meet the changing needs of the education system, Andhra University Vice-Chancellor G.P. Raja Sekhar said while inaugurating a five-day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Modern Teaching Methods”, organised by the Institute of Advanced Studies in Education (IASE), on Monday.Addressing participants, Mr. Raja said that student-centred teaching, activity-based learning, audio-visual tools and other engaging classroom practices could significantly enhance students’ critical thinking, creativity and learning outcomes.English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU) professor S. Nageswara Rao said continuous professional development and faculty development programmes play a vital role in achieving the objectives of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.St. Joseph College of Education, Guntur, professor T. Swaroopa Rani and University of Hyderabad professor J.V. Madhusudan also addressed the programme. IASE Principal and FDP Convenor D.
