Corrine Jackson is accused of the murder of her estranged girlfriend Nadine Esterhuizen.
Murder-accused Corrine Jackson is fighting to have Legal Aid represent her midway through her trial, while she claims the media is falsely portraying her and that she is a victim of character assassination.
She said "predjudice" has not allowed her to have a fair trial since her arrest nearly nine years ago.
Jackson, who was dressed in black and armed with a large file, made an appearance in the Mitchells Plain Regional Court on Monday for the murder of her estranged girlfriend, Nadine Esterhuizen, 18.
Before proceedings could start, Jackson handed the Cape Argus a letter signed and formulated by herself, which she said had been previously handed into the court.
