Coinbase said its new "Launches" tab is now available, letting users find and trade tokens on Base and Solana as soon as they go live onchain, according to a post from the exchange's official X account published Monday.
The tab sits inside Coinbase's built-in decentralized exchange (DEX), which routes trades to onchain liquidity rather than requiring a token to be formally listed on the centralized exchange. Coinbase's DEX product page says users can trade "the most popular and trending tokens on Base and Solana moments after their launch," with access to "key data and risk signals on all tokens."
Coinbase had teased the feature earlier, saying in a June post that the tab "lets you discover new tokens on @base and Solana as soon as they launch."
The feature is gated to Coinbase's DEX rails rather than its standard listed markets. Coinbase's product page states that "DEX trading requires users to create a self-custody wallet prior to trading" and that the "DEX trading feature not available in all locations."
Coinbase's post did not specify which app surface hosts the tab or enumerate supported regions, and the exchange has not published a public screening threshold for which newly-live tokens appear. At its December DEX presentation, a Coinbase specialist said trading would be available for tokens with "sufficient liquidity" without defining that bar, per prior Defiant reporting.
