German postal and logistics giant DHL, which operates in Lithuania, has agreed to acquire Venipak, a parcel delivery group operating in the Baltic states and Poland, the companies said Monday.
The value of the deal was not disclosed. The acquisition includes Venipak companies in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia and will allow DHL to establish its own local logistics network across the Baltic region, DHL Group and Venipak said.
Subject to regulatory approval, DHL will acquire all shares in Venipak from the company’s founder, Nerijus Raudonis, and integrate the business into its DHL eCommerce division.
“We will preserve what Venipak is valued for today in the Baltic states – speed, flexibility and close relationships with customers – while opening up access to one of the world’s largest logistics networks,” Venipak CEO Andrius Ladauskas said.
Pablo Ciano, CEO of DHL eCommerce, said the company was seeking a partner with strong knowledge of local markets, customer trust and growth ambitions.
