In a bid to prepare well in advance for the next Assembly election, new presidents would be appointed for all district Congress committees as part of ‘Sanghatan Srujan Abhiyan’, said Basareddy Malipatil Anapur, president of the Yadgir district unit of the Congress.Addressing a press conference in Yadgir on Monday (July 27), he said that Jetti Kusuma Kumar, AICC Observer for Yadgir district, apart from MLCs and KPCC Observers Shanagouda Patil Bayyapur and Raj Gopal Reddy, would be camping in the district from July 30 to August 4. They would hold a series of meetings at the block level to discuss with party workers about strengthening the party from the ground level.“On July 30, Mr. Kumar he will attend a block-level meeting at Shorapur and Hunsagi, followed by a block-level meeting at Shahapur and Kembhavi on July 31, Yadgir and Wadagera on August 3 and Gurmitkal and Saidapur on August 4,” Mr. Anapur said, adding that he would accept applications from aspirants for the president’s post.There are around five aspirants for the post in Yadgir district and Mr. Anapur is keen on seeking another term.
