The Defense Intelligence of Ukraine (DIU) has identified the Russian unit responsible for the strike on an ATB supermarket in Chernihiv, saying the attack was carried out by a Geran-4 jet-powered drone operated by personnel from the GROM Kaskad brigade.
The intelligence agency announced this in a statement, according to Ukrinform.
"On July 26, 2026, at 16:12, the aggressor state, Russia, struck an ATB grocery supermarket in the city of Chernihiv with a Geran-4 jet-powered drone. As a result of this deliberate terrorist attack on a civilian facility, two Ukrainians were killed, including a 10-year-old child," the DIU said.
According to the agency, 25 other people were injured in the attack, including three children.
The DIU reported that the drone was launched by Combat Group No. 3 of the GROM Kaskad Separate Unmanned Aviation Brigade.
