Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu directed officials to create awareness among farmers about the impact of El Niño. In a review meeting at Real Time Governance Society (RTGS) Centre in Amaravati on Monday, Naidu instructed the officials to strengthen measures already put in place and intensify awareness efforts among farmers. The farmers should be informed about the likely consequences of El Niño and should be encouraged to adopt suitable alternative crops wherever necessary, he said, adding a crop insurance action plan should be implemented effectively. The Chief Minister said there are still gaps in the delivery of government services in remote areas of the State. Referring to feedback received from the public during his recent visit to Alur Assembly constituency, he stressed that government employees’ performance must align with the expectations and needs of the people, according to a release.
