French police on Monday detained a man who attacked three women by knife near Porte de Clichy in the north of Paris, Interior Minister Laurent Nunez told reporters at a news conference during which he also addressed France's ongoing wildfires. The assault on the women aged 19, 24 and 36 took place at around 11:30am (09:30GMT), with the attacker wielding two kitchen knives as weapons. Nunez confirmed that two of the three women had been severely wounded, but added that their lives were not in danger. The minister said the man had been apprehended by an off-duty police officer.
