French ​police on Monday detained ​a man who attacked three women by knife ⁠near Porte de Clichy in the north of Paris, Interior Minister ⁠Laurent Nunez told reporters at a news conference during which he also addressed France's ongoing wildfires. The assault on the women aged 19, 24 and 36 took place at around 11:30am (09:30GMT), with the attacker wielding two ‌kitchen knives as weapons. Nunez confirmed that two of the three women had been ​severely wounded, but added that their lives were not in danger. The ​minister ​said the man ​had been apprehended by an off-duty police officer. "I pay tribute ​to him, it was ​a courageous act," Nunez added. The identity of the suspect and his motive remain unclear. (FRANCE 24 with Reuters and AP)
