Ukraine plans to receive the first working prototype of the European Freyja ballistic missile defense system in the first half of 2027.
Davyd Aloian, Deputy Secretary of Ukraine's National Security and Defense Council, stated this in a comment to Reuters, Ukrinform reports.
"Since we're working within such a tight timeframe, we have an ambitious goal: to have an MVP (minimum viable product) ready by the first half of next year," Aloyan said, noting that he coordinates the Freyja project.
According to him, the goal is a prototype that will already be able to demonstrate the first practical results.
The international steering committee is expected to meet for the first time soon. Its task will be to assess the cost of research and development for the system.
