Intel reported better-than-expected financial results for the second quarter, as its data centre sales boosted its fastest revenue growth since 2011.
The company saw overall revenue of $16.1 billion (£12bn) for the quarter, compared to the $14.42bn expected by LSEG analysts.
For the current quarter, it said it expects revenue of $15.8bn to $16.8bn, also surpassing consensus estimates of $15.1bn.

Revenue from Intel’s largest group, the client computing unit that makes PC chips, rose 13 percent year-on-year to $8.9bn.
