Lithuania has resumed negotiations with the Taiwanese Representative Office on an economic cooperation action plan following a change in government, the Foreign Ministry said.
The talks were temporarily suspended in June as the new Social Democrat-led government restructured the cabinet.
The ministry said strengthening economic cooperation with Taiwan remains a long-term foreign policy priority and that Lithuania aims to sign an economic cooperation action plan once negotiations are completed.
According to the ministry, the plan is focused on building sustainable economic ties and supporting the development of Lithuania’s high-tech sectors. It declined to disclose specific details while consultations are ongoing.
The ministry said Lithuania’s position on Taiwan remains unchanged and that it seeks to deepen practical cooperation in areas of mutual benefit, including trade, business, education, science, culture and people-to-people exchanges.
