Four Pakistani nationals were tragically shot and killed in a targeted attack in Tembisa.
The president of the Pakistan South Africa Association KZN condemned social media users who celebrated the deaths of four Pakistani national businessmen, in what is believed to be a targeted attack, calling such reactions deeply disturbing.
Hayat Khan, the president of the association, said: "What has made this tragedy even more painful is seeing some comments on social media celebrating these deaths or expressing happiness that these men were killed. While everyone is entitled to their opinions, no one should celebrate the loss of human life. Such reactions undermine our shared humanity and can encourage further division and violence.”
The men, who owned spaza shops in Tembisa, were shot and killed in Chloorkop, Kempton Park, on Saturday evening.
The victims were reportedly driving home after closing their businesses when gunmen opened fire on their vehicle at the corner of Zuurfontein and Orangerivier roads.
