The Hawks in Limpopo have arrested two suspects accused of fraud and corruption over the alleged unlawful processing of late birth registrations at the Malamulele Department of Home Affairs office.

The Hawks in Limpopo have arrested two suspects over the alleged unlawful processing of late birth registrations for two children whose foreign-national mother had died, in a fraud and corruption case linked to the Malamulele Department of Home Affairs office.

The two suspects are aged 37 and 40.

The pair were arrested following an intensive investigation by the Hawks' Serious Corruption Investigation (SCI) unit in Musina into an incident that allegedly occurred on July 10, 2019 at the Malamulele office of the Department of Home Affairs.

They are expected to appear before the Malamulele Magistrate's Court on Monday, July 27, 2026, on charges of fraud and corruption.
