Oba Adesuyi Haastrup, the Owa Obokun of Ijesaland, has urged Bola Oyebamiji, the Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, to help realise the proposed Obokun University if elected governor.
Oba Haastrup made the appeal when the APC campaign train visited his Palace in Ilesa on Thursday, saying his dream was to see three universities established in Ijesaland.
“Our governor-to-be, my dream is to have three universities in Ijesaland. Senator Francis Fadahunsi has started Obokun University. When you get there, whatever support you can do to bring the dream to reality, help us do it,” the monarch said.
Oba Haastrup, who also prayed for Oyebamiji’s success at the poll, expressed confidence that the APC candidate would not neglect Ijesaland if elected.
“Your efforts will not be in vain. God will take you to the promised land. I know you cannot forget Ijesaland because you are surrounded by Ijesa patriotic citizens,” he said.
