British actor, David Jonsson, has been unveiled as the new Black Panther, stepping into the Marvel Cinematic Universe franchise six years after the death of Chadwick Boseman, who first played the role.
The announcement was made on Saturday at Marvel Studios’ Comic-Con Hall H panel in San Diego, alongside confirmation that “Black Panther 3” will premiere in theatres on December 15, 2028.
Jonsson, 32, will play Prince T’Challa II, popularly called Toussaint, the son of Boseman’s T’Challa and Nakia, played by Lupita Nyong’o.
