Bulgaria recorded the biggest annual increase in fuel prices among all European Union countries in June, according to data from Eurostat.
Prices of fuels and lubricants for personal vehicles across the EU rose by 13.7% in June compared with the same month in 2025. The increase was registered in every member state, but Bulgaria saw the sharpest rise, with prices climbing by 26%.
The next largest increases were reported in Lithuania, where fuel prices grew by 23.5%, Romania with 23.1%, and Finland with 22%. The smallest annual increases were recorded in Hungary at 2.3% and Poland at 5.8%.
At the same time, diesel prices declined across all EU countries in June compared with May. The largest monthly decreases were reported in the Czech Republic, where prices fell by 11.3%, followed by Poland with a 9.7% drop and Bulgaria with a 9.4% decline.
Hungary recorded the smallest monthly decrease in diesel prices, at 0.6%.
