The President of the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association, Franklin Graham, has called on Christians around the world to pray for persecuted believers in Nigeria.

This is as he urged United States President Donald Trump to put pressure on the Nigerian government to protect Christians facing attacks.

The appeal followed a Fox News report highlighting the ordeal of Reverend Ezekiel Dachomo, a Nigerian pastor who said nine members of his family had been killed and that he had now received death threats from suspected Fulani militia members.

In a message shared on social media, Graham wrote: "Pray for the persecuted Christians in Nigeria. Pray that President @realDonaldTrump will put pressure on the Muslim president of Nigeria to protect innocent Christians who are being butchered by radical followers of Islam."
