President Xi Jinping, the secretary general of the CPC, delivered a keynote speech on the legacy of the Party, outlining future goals for economic development and technological self-reliance, and awarded the "July 1st Medal" to outstanding CPC members.
The CPC is the world’s largest governing party and has realised significant global influence. Since it was founded on July 1, 1921, it led the establishment of the sovereign unified Chinese state in 1949. The party has successfully transformed one of the largest, most populous countries from the shackles of domestic fragmentation, feudalism, and colonialism into the second-largest economy in the world.
China is home to more than 1.4 billion people, roughly equivalent to the combined population of the Western world. Governing a country of this scale, diversity, and vast size is exponentially more complex than governing a small territory.
The CPC rejuvenated Chinese society, improving living standards for hundreds of millions of people while driving robust socio-economic transformation and growing international influence, turning China into a major global power. It paved the way for China’s industrialisation, modernisation, global influence, solidarity and enduring international friendships.
