SportBoxingAnthony JoshuaAnthony Joshua had to win to set up an all-British showdown with Tyson Fury but gave his fans a huge scare23:39, 25 Jul 2026Updated 23:52, 25 Jul 2026Anthony Joshua recovered from two knockdowns in the first round to KO Kristian Prenga and set up a huge fight with Tyson Fury.‌Joshua was dropped seconds into what was supposed to be a routine warm-up fight and looked at one stage as if he would be stopped when he touched the canvas again. But he clung on to reach the second round when he took the fight to Prenga and stopped the Albanian.‌Joshua was fighting for the first time since he escaped death in a car crash last December and he ensured the names of his two friends who died in the smash were remembered by sewing their names into the canvas in front of his red corner.‌But disaster struck inside seconds as Joshua hit the canvas. He gave a wry smile as he picked himself up but he was in trouble again when Prenga pinned him to the ropes. And he was counted again with 30 seconds of the round remaining when he touched the floor - but he clung on to hear the bell.Joshua began the second round with far more authority and with Prenga back-pedalling, the Brit landed a huge right hand which left the Albanian crumpled. Asked about fighting Fury, who failed to show up at ringside, Joshua said: "I am going to rip his heart out. I am the meanest and most vicious champion there has ever been!"All jokes aside, there are two sides to this thing. You have to have that vim as a fighter but also respect. I respect everything he has done and achieved but as a someone who has been calling for this fight for some time, it is here now. I hope the fans will be in for a lovely treat."‌Earlier, Josh Kelly defended his super-welterweight world title with a thrilling points win over Caoimhin Agyarko. Kelly's face was crimson and he was caught by a left as his challenger looked to seize his chance. The same shot in the dying seconds stole the round.
